This is a renewable contract, non-tenure track position beginning August 1, 2013. Instructor/Assistant Professor in Social Work and Field Education Coordinator of SWK program accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE).
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Social Work on the college campus. Active involvement within the college, school and department; student advising, college-wide committee work and professional development are required.
Social Work Field Education Coordinator:
Responsibilities include: 1) successfully leading and administering the Social Work Field Education program, including curriculum development, in consultation with the Director of SWK and the Department Head of Psychology and Social Work 2) responsible for ensuring CSWE compliance including but not limited to the preparation of all re-accreditation documents and assessments required in operating the field education experiences; and 3) collaboration with professionals in the field, area preceptors, and oversight of all practical experiences in collaboration with the Director of Social Work and Department Head is expected.
Master’s degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program and at least 2 years of post-baccalaureate or postmaster's social work practice experience required.
1) leadership and administrative ability to successfully direct the field education experiences 2) a broad based knowledge of social work, 3) evidence of effective teaching, 4) evidence of professional practice experience and 5) an ability to interact with professionals and preceptors in the area.
